Ross Mail is the product

Build and operate the Ross Mail workspace.

Ross Mail owns the user experience and product language. The current mailbox transport remains Google Workspace; Cloudflare Email Service is documented as a future infrastructure resource and is not connected to the app.

RUNTIME

Application structure

  • Next.js Pages Router with React and TypeScript.
  • Static export output with trailing slash routes.
  • Shared application navigation in components/app-shell.tsx.
  • Product terms and program registry in config/platform-catalog.ts.
  • Searchable module index in config/module-directory.ts.
  • Backend routes remain separate under backend/.
INDEXING

Search and page discovery

Module pages are statically rendered and linked from the product directory. The deployment includes sitemap.xml and robots.txt for the public hostname. The live inbox remains provider-hosted and is not indexed by Ross Mail.

LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

Start the app

Use Node.js 20.11 or later and npm.

cp .env.example .env.local
npm install
npm run dev
VALIDATION

Run release checks

npm run check:env
npm run typecheck
npm run build
npm run verify

These checks validate the approved provider links, TypeScript, and the production export.

PUBLIC ENVIRONMENT

Browser-safe launch links

Copy .env.example to .env.local. NEXT_PUBLIC values are included in browser output. Keep credentials, OAuth tokens, API keys, and private records out of this file.

CLOUDFLARE RESOURCE

Email Sending and Email Routing

Cloudflare Email Service can send transactional email or route incoming email. It does not host user mailboxes. A future connection needs a verified Cloudflare domain, a server-side secret or Worker binding, sender restrictions, and delivery tests.

ROUTES AND HEALTH

Static product pages

Dashboard, Inbox, Compose, Workspace, Directory, Calendar, Contacts, Files, Tasks, Notes, Security Center, Cloudflare Email, Admin Center, Developer Hub, Platform Catalog, and Format Studio are public routes. Backend health is exposed at /api/_healthcheck.

Web-host DNS and mail DNS serve different purposes. A UI release must not change MX, SPF, DKIM, or DMARC records.
