Cloudflare Email Service

Cloudflare Email Service resource guide for Ross Mail inbound routing, transactional email sending, domain setup, and current integration status.

Resource guide · not connected

Cloudflare email infrastructure for Ross Mail.

Cloudflare offers useful email routing and transactional sending capabilities. This resource page documents where they fit; no Cloudflare account, sender domain, token, binding, or routing rule is connected to the app yet.

OUTBOUND · EMAIL SENDING BETA

Transactional email delivery

Send application notifications through a Workers binding, REST API, or authenticated SMTP after onboarding a sending domain and securing the required credentials.

  • For receipts, alerts, sign-in messages, and other app-triggered email.
  • Arbitrary-recipient sends require a Workers Paid plan under Cloudflare's current plan rules.
  • Not a mailbox service; it does not provide inboxes, folders, contacts, or calendar hosting.

INBOUND · EMAIL ROUTING

Route incoming email

Forward incoming messages to verified destinations or process them with a Cloudflare Worker. Routing is available on Free and Paid Workers plans.

  • Requires Cloudflare DNS and configured routing addresses or a Worker.
  • Root-domain MX changes can conflict with a separately hosted inbox if not planned carefully.
  • A Worker route is processing infrastructure, not mailbox storage.

ROSS MAIL RESOURCE PLAN

Setup sequence

Each infrastructure step needs account-level verification before the application can use it.

01

Choose the email role

Decide whether Cloudflare is for transactional sending, selected inbound aliases, or both. A full user inbox requires a separate mailbox host.

02

Onboard and verify a domain

Cloudflare requires a domain in its DNS account. Review the generated MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records before applying any mail DNS changes.

03

Connect a protected sender

Store the API token as a server-side secret, restrict sender addresses and recipients, and add authenticated send routes only after identity and abuse controls are ready.

04

Test delivery and routing

Verify accepted, rejected, bounced, and forwarded messages in Cloudflare observability before marking the resource connected.

Current Ross Mail status

Google Workspace is still the configured business mailbox route. This page has not changed MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, or Cloudflare settings.
